Ignore The LEGO City Undercover Rumours!

Contrary to recent online rumours, the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of the hotly anticipated LEGO City Undercover game will NOT need an internet connection to be able to play it, nor will you need to download additional content to be able to enjoy the full game. The rumours came after a draft of the game packaging for the Switch version, made its way online, stating a 13GB download and internet connection was required.

The confirmation comes via IGN who got the following statement from Warner Bros:

“The information is listed incorrectly on the packaging of LEGO City Undercover for Nintendo Switch. Players who purchase a physical copy of LEGO City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail are getting the complete game, and do not need to download additional content to enjoy the full experience. An internet connection is not required to play the game. The only internet connection suggested is to download the typical content update patch.”

ToysWorld also contacted Warner Bros. directly, who clarified further:

“Players who purchase LEGO CITY Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail do not need to download the game at all to play it in its entirety. All players who purchase the game can download the small content update patch with an internet connection.”

ToysWorld will be bringing you a full review of LEGO City Undercover, shortly.
