Day 20: Bag 20 today – our final bag, and I can’t believe I’m finally at the finish line! Today we focus on finishing off a few decorative accents inside the shop, including the tri-coloured railing posts, which together with the similarly decorated stairway we built yesterday, look fantastic and the exact sort of wacky […]

Day 19: Bag 19 today! In this penultimate entry in our advent challenge, we finish off the exterior of floor one. We also focus the majority of the build on the interior details of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. There are ornate bannisters, railings and product boxes. There’s also an angled window feature for just above Knockturn […]

Day 18: Bag 18 today! After today’s bags I feel like I’m edging closer to the finish line with this challenge. We now have the majority of the shell of the first floor complete, along with a couple of inner embelishments; most notable of which is the shop mascot, whose arms reach outside the windows […]

Day 17: Bag 17 today! Work begins on floor one of Weasley’s Wizard Weezes today, but not before we finished off the rounded window units of the ground floor. They look fantastic – carrying on the bowed window style from Ollivanders. That orange really pops, and now that we get to add some height to […]

Day 15: Bag 15 today! We begin work on the final building in the Diagon Alley set; Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. There’s also the alleyway for Knockturn Alley, which is minimal but ticks the box with its wonky sign and foreboding black archway. The cobbled street effect for this build is greatly reduced compared to the […]

Day 12: Bag 12 today! Today sees the addition of the shop fascias for Flourish & Blotts and Fortesques. I particularly love the angled fascias on the former! Possibly my favourite part of today’s build are the book racks outside Flourish & Blotts; anyone who has explored the backstreets of London’s St. Martin’s Lane, will […]

Day 10: Bag 10 today! We are officially at the halfway point of the challenge! I’ve never produced a series of daily videos before, and whilst it is challenging and time consuming, it has been a rather enjoyable experience. Having a way to follow and record this challenge and be present in the whole process, […]

Day 8: Bag 8 today! Today, work begins on floor one of both The Daily Prophet and Quality Quidditch Supplies. The Daily Prophet’s angled overhang, complete with sign looks fantastic, and next to the Quidditch shopfront this actually looks like something you’d find on a high street near you (sans the magic). I was pleased […]

Day 7: Bag 7 today! Progress on the ground level of Quality Quidditch Supplies as we focus practically all of today’s build on the elaborate shopfront. It really is stunning with all that detailing; grills, window panes, signs and angled accents. The green roof is quite an odd choice of colour, but I guess it […]

Day 6: Bag 6 today, and we begin the build for Quality Quidditch Supplies and The Daily Prophet shops. As with the start of bag 1, we start with the cobbled effect street and floor tiles for the shop areas. Already I’m loving the shop front as we have a clothing rack and the Nimbus […]
