R2-D2
I’d argue the Star Wars films to date (original trilogy and prequel trilogy) are all about R2-D2. Just think about it. It is R2 that is the central character, appearing in all of the films. Connections to so many of the key characters, many of whom would have perished early if not for the most awesome droid ever. Was it even Luke’s use of the force that landed that all important torpedo shot in New Hope, or was it R2’s influence covering Luke’s butt?!

Malakili all the way, my friends.
Let’s break this down:
1) He has forward fashion sense. Anyone who can pull off armbands, no shirt, and a cloth head wrap and strut confidently with it on is out of your league.
2) He teaches us that you can always find friends in odd places. An excellent lesson for children as much as it is for adults, the Rancor-Malakili friendship stands as an example for all of us, either at home, school, or the office place. Mostly the last one.
3) Malakili represents true good in the Star Wars saga. Here is a man who lives in a true hive of scum and villainy – who has probably one of the most heinous jobs in the Palace of one of the worst Hutts in the galaxy, and the first thing he does when Luke kills the Rancor? Cries. He cries and shows all of us that the most important thing in the world are your loved ones, and that everyone – even monster keepers in Jabba’s Palace – have those that they care about. It ties into the entire theme of Return of the Jedi – the good that Luke believes he can still find in his father is exemplified by Malakili’s love for his friend in the darkest of places.
Malakili is a true legend and at the heart of Return of the Jedi, the morality of Star Wars, and simply one of the most suave fellas in the galaxy. Rock on, Malakili, rock on.
It just has to be wicket
