productinfoYour child will love building this fun LEGO® DUPLO® Batwing Adventure play set and helping Batman™ retrieve the stolen treasure. There’s lots of action in this set for your little super hero: start the story off by launching the Batwing´s cannon, then push The Penguin down the slide before he escapes in his duck vehicle. Includes two DUPLO figures.

At last! Superheroes come to LEGO Duplo, and who better to kick things off than Batman and his nemesis, The Penguin!

Our youngest child (Jacob – 3 Years Old), has recently been expressing a lot of interest in superheroes – particularly Batman, and whilst the geek in me is keen for him to watch all the movies, the fact remains they are not age appropriate. Cue the LEGO Batman Movie! All of a sudden, one of the greatest superheroes is now attainable and marketable to the younger audiences! Whilst this particular set isn’t from the LEGO Batman Movie, it opens the door to a whole new range of age appropriate superhero toys.

In this set you get Batman (with Batarang), The Penguin (with Umbrella), A Penguin, The Batwing, The Penguin’s duck vehicle, a slide and a mini ice cave (with treasure printed block). That all important printed treasure block actually helps add a whole story to the set; The Penguin has stolen the treasure and Batman – complete with his trusty Batwing, has to swoop down and rescue the loot and return it to its rightful owner.

The Batwing comes with 2 missiles, which are soft impact at close proximity (trust me on this one), and you can activate the firing by pressing the red button at the front of the vehicle. We also found that you can attach the Batarang to the exhaust port at the rear of the Batwing, which looks really cool!

The Penguin’s duck vehicle is a great nod to the 1992 ‘Batman Returns‘ movie, whilst the actual figure of The Penguin seems to hark back to the original TV series version (same with Batman himself).

We’ve had the set for a week now and Jacob cannot put it down – it’s the first thing he wants to play with when he gets home from preschool, and it’s a testament to just how well thought out the set it. With a price point of £24.99, it’s just about right, and you’ll definitely get your value for money through playability.

This is a truly fantastic set to kick off your little one’s introduction into the superhero universe, and the bright colours, ease-of-use and features all pull together to make this a must-have set.
